Sugar and Spice & Everything nice!

I love to shop for Kenley, I admit it- she has a very extensive wardrobe and she is spoiled! lol .... I enjoy shopping for her- and she is such a girly, girl. She LOVES shoes... she walks around the house slipping her feet into mine and chris's shoes while saying "shoes, shoes, shoes" ... if we are at home and she does not have shoes on she will point to her feet and say "mama, shoes" lol ..... So I guess weather I treated her as a diva or not- she was born to be one lol.....

Today, I had to run to buy buy baby to pick up a few things, so while we were in the area and it was such a nice day, we stopped at Partridge Creek. One of my favorite stores there is "Janie & Jack" some of their things I admit can be absolutely ridiculous... price wise. But it does not mean its not super cute- however, most of the time I can find a few decent sales in there. Today, I walked in, and could not resist lol...... I am soo in love with Navy blue these days and came across a super cute dress for the cruise for her. Its bottom is green and blue plaid- the top part is white and near the straps are too little navy blue bows...... take a look!

19 months! ... To Kenley...

Kenley you are now 19 months!! I can not believe how fast she is growing up! We are soo very proud of you and all of your accomplishments. We are soo blessed to have you in our lives. You complete us, you make us want to be the best people we can be. As each day passes, it amazes us how many new things you are learning and saying each day. Right now you are on this "teeth" kick.... You love love love to brush your teeth, ....well tooth, that is! haha yep, thats right! Just like mommy- you did not get your first tooth until 18 months. But no worries, you will soon have a mouth full of chompers! hehe.

If I ask you where your eyes, ears, nose, mouth, head, hair, cheeks, hands, fingers, feet, belly, teeth, & booty ( haha yes, I said booty!) you can point all of them out! ... You also love to walk around the living room with Dadas BIG shoes on your feet!

Each day your vocabulary is growing and growing! .... You also like to help clean up your toys and love shoes! Yep- my little diva, you are a shoe lover already haha....If you do not have shoes on, you will take some from your room and say "shoes" "shoes" and when I then put them on you giggle.  It's funny to us because when you were a baby, you hated your socks! and your shoes. I used to call you my lil silly hillybilly because you always wanted to be barefoot! lol One minute mommy would be in the store and turn her head for one second and then look over and there is your bare little foot sticking straight up out of the stroller! haha.... Anyways, your 2nd birthday is just months away. We are soo happy =)

You have made us realize what life is really about. We love you soo very much!! xo

Why you ask?....

In case whoever it is, that is viewing, are wondering "why?" I started this blog? I have to say so that our family can look back on this to remember some of the memories that we may eventually forget or lose sight of.

This blog is about me, and my family, my life in general... un -edited!.. If you should come across this blog and find that you do not like what is on here, then please leave. No drama intended, nor needed here =)

36 days and counting....

In 36 days I will be on a plane to Florida, woot woot! ..Yes-  Its my right to be that annoying person that has to list a countdown, believe me- this is for me.... for my own sanity lol.

Part of me always wonder what it would be like to pick up and start an entire life. New job, new home, new surroundings. If I had a choice it would definitely be somewhere within driving distance to the ocean. Far enough to not have to worry about my house floating away or going through the chore of boarding up the windows. But close enough to visit on weekends without it needing to be a road trip. But then reality sinks in..... and you start to realize that sometimes the "grass is always greener on the other side".

After living at 27 mile road for years, we realized that even if you are happy with your surroundings, if you never see anyone, what good is it?
I also know that for us, moving away from our family would not be fair to them or to Kenley since she is so close with them. I have finally started establishing business, and it would not be practical just to have to start all over again...... So for now its the "strictly vacations" ocean life for us, and that I am OK with =)

50 days and counting!....

Until we set sail!! .... Before Chris and I became parents, we took a cruise to The Keys and Cozumel. We enjoyed it so much we decided to sail again! However, this time- to different ports of course!

With the new job and the new business and all the work I already have lined up for us this year -the only month we would be able to get away- that was not around the holidays, (well besides Easter) was in April. Usually I plan for a trip 9-12 months in advance. Stress over planning but at the same time- enjoy having a trip to look forward to. This time we planned it for less than 60 days. I must say- The cruise is paid for- the flight is paid for, the rental cars are paid for. All we have left is the hotel ( which has been reserved) spending money (of course) and excursions. Its a good feeling just being able to focus on the getaway it-self. I have cabin fever- All I want are blue sunny skies- and hot hot heat =)

Our love story..

In honor of Valentines Day, I am going to start this blog out with our love story.

I was 19 when I met Chris, an old high school "friend" of mine, happened to be dating his best friend for a few weeks. We were supposed to be introduced to one another one evening, but Chris was stuck at work and I had plans later on in the evening. About a week later. Me and the ladies ( old friends from a long time ago) were going out for a ladies night in Windsor. At 19, that was about our only place to "go out" haha.

One of our old favs to go to was "Bentleys"... we ended up going into that Bar and ended up running into Chris, Mike ( one of his best friends) and the girl I was friends with. Ever since then, We have been two peas in a pod! Chris and I have been together for over 10 years now. Married for 8 of them. When people ask us how we met, we both simply reply "in a bar" haha.... even though we really did not truly "meet" at the bar. lol

Although many people see it as a "Hallmark Holiday", V-day is one of my favorite holidays. I still have the pink teddy that Chris gave me on V-day- just a few short days after we started "dating" officially. The bear sits on a chair in our 18 month old daughters (Kenley) room. Everyday, I see that bear and it reminds me of our story of young love, and it seems like only yesterday we met.

Oreo Truffles

I love love love love "Pinterest".... For those of you whom never heard of this site before. It is basically a site full of thumbtack photos that link to pages online of recipes, other blog posts, craft ideas, child activity ideas....etc! So basically when you create an account its almost like an online thumbtack board! I have come across so many ideas! For those of you whom know me, I do not "love" to bake. I usually only bake around the holidays. Perhaps maybe if I did not have to cook every (well almost, everyday) then I would enjoy being in the kitchen more but between full time mommy life, photo shoots, client meetings, and running the business I just don't have time! So I am very excited to say that I tried my first Pinterst "recipe" today. If you can even call it a recipe! So so so easy to make! Just 3 different ingrediants!

1 Pkg of Double Stuffed Oreo Cookies, One package of bakers melting chocolate, and 4oz of cream cheese!
I know crazy, right? So I just got finished making them and they turned out great and am excited to share them with the family for the holidays!

Recipe and Photo can be found here... http://chef-n-training.blogspot.com/2011/11/no-bake-oreo-truffles.html
